About CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA
CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA is the UK’s leading charity tackling childhood leukaemia.
Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood, it is the most common childhood cancer and currently there
is no cure.
Treatments for leukaemia typically involve chemotherapy, radiotherapy and sometimes a bone
marrow transplant.
These treatments are very hard on young children and typically last for two
to three years.
Sadly one in five children with leukaemia will still die from their disease.
We are determined to develop new and better treatments and are also
looking at the causes of leukaemia in the hope that future
generations need not suffer.
